Ieuan tackles new Welsh tourism role

Llanelli , Wales and British Lions rugby legend Ieuan Evans has been appointed to the Wales tourist board.


First Minister Rhodri Morgan said retired winger was joining the board because of his outstanding communication skills.
"Ieuan Evans is not just a Welsh rugby captain and former British Lion of immense distinction on the playing field" said Mr Morgan "He is joining the board because of his outstanding communication skills and his understanding of the needs of the tourist industry and the tourist.


Since hanging up his boots ,Mr Evans has made his mark as a television presenter and journalist. He also runs his own marketing and public relations company. He was born and brought up in Carmarthenshire and now lives in Cowbridge with his wife Kathryn and three children , age four, two and one.


Mr Morgan said he was sure Mr Evans standing as a internationally renowned figure , together with his business and media activities, would serve the board well. He added “His marketing experience and enthusiasm to promote all that is Welsh will be an invaluable asset to the Wales Tourist Board as it embarks on major marketing campaigns at home and overseas”.
